I am co-chairing a fundraiser for the Westfield Food Pantry, a worthwhile organization in desperate need of funds to see it through the year. So far ticket sales have been lack luster. If you are free next Friday night 9/19, I hope you will consider joining us. I know I have asked for support in the past, this will be it for a while as I am taking a break to focus on Terra Americana’s ever expanding business.
It is an evening of Latin music, dance and food. Westfield State University is co-sponsoring the event and has been gracious enough to allow us to use the terrace of the Horace Mann Center (The old Stan Home Building across from Stanley Park). The terrace overlooks a community garden cared for by WSU professors; the fruits of their labors being donated to the pantry. We will have professional instructors to help us all learn the steps, the WSU Acapella group to enchant us all with a song or two. Executive Chef Richard Giroux and his talented crew will be serving;
- Tomatillo gazpacho shooters
- chorizo poached in red wine
- Banuelos de queso manchengo (manchengo cheese puffs)
- Escalibada grilled vegetable on rustic bread
- Garlic shrimp
- tortilla espanola (potato and spring onion omelet)
- Flan tasting spoon also passed
- Cheese and charcutierrie display (Manchengo, cheddar, Havarti w/dill, smoked blue, chorizo sausage, serrano ham
- Spanish old world tomato salad
- Mixed olive tapenade
- white bean and garlic dip
Platters of rich and decadent chocolate bark from Terra Americana are sure to delight and satisfy your sweet tooth. A bar serving beer and wine will also be available.
Please join me, my family and friends for what is sure to be a delightful evening!
